Jennifer Collins is a mom of 2 children, and is also a triple certified teacher with over 25 years of experience providing online classes for homeschoolers, private schools, charter schools, and small homeschool groups.
Teaching Philosophy
Her philosophy was built upon a combination of experience in the classroom, as a mom, and a study skills coach. Her teaching style involves a fun mix of Charlotte Mason nature studies and Montessori style hands-on experiments. Her program encourages the use of interactive notebooks. Interactive notebooks provide a mix of art/science to help students have a fun but memorable experience. Her hobby and love is wildcrafting. A wildcrafter is a person who explores and forages for items found in nature. She is always adding to her home science labs various insect specimens, drying herbs, pressing wildflowers, collecting rocks, and looking for ideas for nature crafts she can use in her classes. Her classes are very hands-on because she wants to encourage students to explore the outdoors, collect, and be creative with items found.

Science Exploration (Grades K-8th) - $55
- 9-Week Course, Self-Paced
This course was created to engage inquiry based learners to help show their potential using project based learning techniques. The course will feature mini units/labs over Forensics, Life Science, Earth Science, Anatomy, and Environmental Science so students can experience several types of science.
- 1 Semester
Elementary school science focuses on introducing foundational concepts in life, physical, and Earth & space sciences, fostering curiosity and critical thinking through hands-on activities. Students explore topics like the scientific method, states of matter, animal classification, and the solar system.
- 2 Semesters, Self-Paced
This course provides a general approach to a mixture of Earth Science, Physical Science, Life Science, and Ecology.
The course includes a full year of science with 24 weeks of curriculum, broken up into two semesters. Each week families will have access to a teacher video, and 5 weekly tasks (assignments, vocabulary tasks, and labs). Graded assessments will also be provided with a variety of study skills approaches to help with comprehension.
- 2 Semesters, Self-Paced
An introduction to the study of the Earth using a systems approach. The focus will be on the subsystems (geosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, biosphere) and the dynamic interactions between them. The approach will be to develop an understanding of the balance that exists in the global environment as a result of the interactions between the systems. The course begins with a study of the Earth; relative to the rest of the solar system, continues to a study of the various Earth systems and processes (plate tectonics, earthquakes, weather, oceans, etc.), weather systems, and ends with a unit over the solar system.
- 2 Semesters, Self-Paced
Anatomy and Physiology is a course that will enable students to develop an understanding of the relationships between the structures and functions of the human body. Students will also learn the mechanisms for maintaining homeostasis within the human body. This course will involve laboratory activities, projects, dissections, textbook material, models, diagrams, journal writings, and clinical studies.
- 2 Semesters, Self-Paced
This subject is designed to provide a general background for the understanding of the science of Biology. This course develops an appreciation of the beauty of life from its simplest composition at the molecular level to the global spectrum of complex ecological issues. It discusses Genetics, Cytology, Photosynthesis, Cellular Respiration, Populations, and Ecology.
